SPLOST UPDATE
The good news story of SPLOST continues for Cobb County taxpayers. In September and October 2008, the School Board:
• Approved the school district’s Capital Outlay Program and Exceptional Growth Funding Program. The administration has worked with officials of the State Department of Education to determine that Cobb County Schools is eligible to receive Fiscal Year 2010 Capital Outlay Funding in the amount of $45,511,817 based on proposed SPLOST III construction projects.
• Approved the final project closeout for an addition at East Cobb Middle School (SPLOST II). By certifying that all accounts for labor, materials and services for the projects’ construction have been paid in full and that there are no claims of any nature outstanding, either liquidated or disputed, the District will be eligible to receive $60,197 in State Capital Outlay Funds allocated for the project.
These projects were part of the SPLOST II program approved in 2003. To view the agenda items for the projects, visit: http://boarddocs.cobbk12.org/Board.nsf/Public?OpenFrameSet
