HELP WANTED!

Reader’s Digest Assistances are needed on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Please contact PTSA Co-President Sharmell Luke for details at 770.974.1591 or sharmellluke@comcast.net.

Student Talent Show - help is needed from both parents and teachers during all rehearsals immediately after school as well as on the day of the talent show in Feb. 2009. For details, (i.e. locations, times, etc.) or concerns, please contact the Lead Coordinator: Sharmell Luke.

M.O.R.E. Committee - parent volunteers are needed immediately to help our students with their homework, etc. on 1st and 3rd Monday of every month (with holidays exception). Please contact either Ires Alliston at 770.529.4599 or ires@att.net or David Kelly at 678.852.5560 or DKelly@WinningSpiritSports.org for details and for volunteer opportunities.

New after school homework help time changed effective immediately - 4:15 to 6:30p.

Incentive/Reward Day Committee needs 10-12 parent volunteers on Friday, Dec. 19 to monitor our students in the auditorium as students watch a movie from 2 to 4:15p. For details, or volunteer opportunities, please contact PTSA Co-President Ires Alliston.

SEVENTH GRADE PARENT EVENT!!

DATE: Tuesday, December 9, 2008
TIME: 6:30 – 8:00 pm
LOCATION: Barber Middle School Auditorium

·        Come join the seventh grade teachers for a night of information, discussion and dessert!
·        This evening will provide an opportunity for you to talk with your child’s teachers, and as a sweet bonus, we will provide desserts and coffee.
·        Students are encouraged to attend with their parents
·        Child care will be available (ages 2-10)

VOLUNTEERS WANTED:

PTSA is hosting a “Duty Free Lunch” for all our teachers on Thursday, Dec. 11 from 12-2:30p and we’d like to ask parents to volunteer and help monitor our students in the cafeteria during this time so that our teachers can enjoy their “Teacher Luncheon.” Help us support our teachers on Dec. 11th even if it’s only for an hour (or more), by contacting Ires Alliston at ires@att.net. Your time and help is greatly appreciated!

SCOLIOSIS SCREENING:

Friday, Dec. 5th, BMS will conduct a Scoliosis Screening Program to identify students with signs of abnormal curvature of the spine. If you would like to help this day or have further questions, please contact Ms. Rosen below.

These sessions are for students needing help with their homework or any subject(s) and not an ASP (After School Program). Volunteers are there to help students with this only.

Students, please bring your materials (books, assignments, etc.) to each session you attend and be prepared to learn, study and ask help.
